Our story

History & founding

NYANGWA HIGH SCHOOL was founded with a deep commitment to academic excellence, spiritual nurture and character formation. Rooted in the Anglican Church of Kenya tradition, the school has grown into one of the most respected public boarding institutions in Embu County.

Today, we serve over 1200+ students through a holistic CBE-aligned programme that integrates rigorous academics with sports, clubs and faith-based formation — preparing dependable graduates who serve society with integrity.

Admissions are guided by the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) framework and Ministry of Education placement.

Requirements

  • KJSEA results slip / leaving certificate from previous school
  • Birth certificate (original + copy)
  • Parent/guardian National ID (copy)
  • Two recent passport photographs
  • Calling letter from the Ministry of Education (for Form 1)
  • School uniform and shopping list (provided on placement)

  1. Term 1
    Form 1 selection and reporting following KJSEA placement.
  2. Term 2
    Mid-year transfers reviewed case-by-case (space permitting).
  3. Term 3
    Pre-admission visits for incoming families.
  4. Year-round
    Inquiries welcome — contact our office for guidance.
